What I’m Growing This Year!


Yup–the official and probably incomplete list of everything I can think of (not including the flowers or the solely medicinal herbs) on this feels-like-spring day:

A:

Asparagus (cheater–this patch was planted generations ago, but I’ll be mulching and improving), Arugula

B:

Beets (red and enormous yellow), Broccoli, Broccoli Raab (rapini), Bok Choi, Basil (sweet, lettuce-leaf, and lemon), Beans, Borage

C:

Chard, Carrots, Cutting Celery,  Collards, Corn, Cauliflower, Cilantro, Cucumbers, Cress, Cabbage, Chives

D:

Dill (probably also cheating, since it reseeds), Daikon Radish

E:

Eggplant

F:

Fennel (bulb and leaf)

G:

Garlic

H:

Hon Tsai Tai

K:

Kale (several kinds), Kohlrabi

L:

Lettuce (all kinds), Leeks, Lamb’s Quarter (cheater–edible “weed” in my garden)

M:

Mustard greens, Melons (water and musk), Mint (apple, lime, spear-, pepper-, licorice)
N:

Nasturtiums, Nettles (cheater–wild harvest)

O:

Onions (red bottle, yellow storage, and green), Okra, Oregano

P:

Peppers (hot and sweet), Peas (snap and shell), Potatoes (fingerlings of three types), Purslane (cheater–edible “weed” in my garden), Parsley

R:

Radishes (spring type), Rutabaga, Rosemary

S:

Shallots, Summer squash, Winter Squash, Sorrel, Spinach, Shiso, Sage

T:

Tomatoes!  and more Tomatoes! Turnips (red and white spring), Tomatillo, Tarragon, Thyme
