It’s raining, and it’s freezing. The roads aren’t frozen yet, but my back porch railing is a slick of ice. The National Weather Service has a big blue splotch of freezing rain advisories blanketing the area, and it’s not supposed to let up until tomorrow afternoon or evening. We might get some sleet, too, for good measure.
And by the way, is there anyone else who thinks crampon is a funny word? It’s like “tampon,” with the added bonus of “cramp.” Maybe we should just call them “ice cleats.”
