Whatcha Bringin’ to the Eat-In?

Just a reminder that tomorrow–Labor Day Monday–is the Vermillion Community Eat-In.  It starts at 5pm at the Armory, and promises to be a blast!

Bring a potluck dish–preferably one made with local foods and/or not highly processed.

I’m not sure what I’ll be making yet–it’ll likely be a matter of cruising the gardens to see what looks good and what sparks my creative cooking urges!

  1. An eat-in — sounds like fun! Also sounds like a good alternative to the sit-in: we could all head out to Pierre and instead of just sitting in front of Mike Rounds’s office, we could all bring dishes to share! Folks could sit down and eat with us while we explain our grievances. We’d get all sorts of support! The governor himself might sit down with us and share a plate. There’s nothing like sharing food to promote good conversation!

    I love it! Let’s go!

Much props to Amy Schweinle, who organized the Eat-In. It’s nice to sit on the sidelines and just enjoy for a change (OK–I did help set up and take down and do a little blog/FB publicity–but I didn’t have to go to any of the meetings–always a plus). We had about 85 folks in attendance altogether–great crowd for a Labor Day Monday event. I went through the line twice and still didn’t get to try everything–but everything I did try was fantastic!
